BAR HARBOR – Albert Stork, 78, husband of Bernice “Bee” (Beal) Stork, died Feb. 21, 2007, with his family at home. He was born July 18, 1928, in Madison, N.J., the son of Harry and Hilda (Stalnacke) Stork. He graduated from Gilman High School, Northeast Harbor in 1946. He was in the U.S. Navy Seabees 1948-1952. Albert supported his family as a carpenter and caretaker until the mid-1980s. The only thing that slowed him down was his health disabilities, never giving up and never complaining. He always had a smile for his family and friends. Albert is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years and three children, daughter, Vicki and her husband, Brent Hutchins, of Ellsworth; sons, Albert Jr. and wife, Jane, of Winterport and Harry Stork of Bar Harbor; three grandchildren, Rebecca, Chris and Jessica; and one great-grand-daughter, Ava; brothers and sisters-in-law, Buzzie and Prue Beal, Harold and Marcia Beal and Doug and Jo Beal; one cousin, Ella Lumsden of Braintree, Mass. He was predeceased by his parents; a grandson, Aaron Salsbury; and in 1981 his dear friend, Lewis Smallidge. Albert would surely want to thank his friend and caregiver, Dr. Lee Haynes and Lester and Inge Smallidge, whom he considered family. At Albert’s request, there will be no funeral services. A graveside service will be held in the spring with the Rev. Dr. Wayne Buchanan. Donations in his memory may be made to the Pretty Marsh Cemetery Association, Gail Reiber, Mount Desert, ME 04660 or to Tremont Larger Parish, care of Carol Farley, P.O. Box 6, Bernard, ME 04612. Arrangements by Jordan-Fernald, 1139 Main St., Mount Desert. Condolences may be expressed at www.jordanfernald.com
