MILLINOCKET – Jeanette T. Burby, 79, wife for 63 years to George Burby Sr., passed away peacefully Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007, with her family by her side, at a Millinocket hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Feb. 17, 1928, in St. Francis, the daughter of Dennis and Second (Jandreau) Baker. In addition to her husband, George of Millinocket, she is survived by five daughters, Diana Mitchell of Barefoot Bay, Fla., Jeanette T. Willey of New Haven, Conn., Carol Pagnozzi and her husband, Gary, of Shelton, Conn., Helen “Lynn” Belair and her husband, Raymond, of Milford, Conn., and Anne Marie Demers and her husband, Michael, of North, Va.; one son, George Burby Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Portage Lake; a sister, Verona Shiloh of Patten; a brother, Dan Baker of Patten; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Jeanette will also be missed by a special friend, Mabel Stadig. She was predeceased by her parents; three brothers, Francis, Willard and Donald Baker; and three sisters, Ida, Edna and Violet. Jeanette’s family expresses their sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of Millinocket Regional Hospital for their love, support and tender care given to Jeanette during the past three months. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Bouchard – Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, March 1, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 112 Maine Ave., Millinocket, with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider.
