HOLDEN – Albert W. “Babe” Lambert Sr., 72, died Oct. 26, 2005, at his home in Holden surrounded by his loving family. He was born Jan. 13, 1933, in Brewer, the son of Calvin T. and Beatrice E. (Peters) Lambert. Babe served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era. He worked for 50 years as a roofing contractor and was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He will be fondly remembered by his nicknames “Camp King” and “Wagman”. He is survived by his wife, Nancy E. (Dillon) Lambert, of Holden; four children, Albert W. Lambert Jr. and his wife, Brighid, of Holden, Barry A. Lambert and his wife, Anne, of Searsport, Lisa M. Stratton and her husband, Winfield, of Brewer and Lori A. Thompson and Mike, of Bangor; one step daughter, Deborah M. LaGasse of Bangor; five grandchildren, Jared and Jason Lambert, Matthew and Mallory Stratton and Alayna Wadlington; two stepgrandchildren, Shannon M. Young and Albe LaGasse; two brothers, Donald Lambert of Holden and Gene Lambert and his wife, Beverly, of Ellsworth; two sisters, Beatrice Poliquin of Merrimack, N.H. and Juanita McLaughlin of Bangor; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, three siblings, Aggie, Calvin “Boo Boo”, and David “Bud” Lambert; a special aunt, Dorothy Boyce; and a sister-in-law, Beverly Lambert; and his former wife, Joyce M. Lambert. Babe will be remembered by his many camping friends and by a special friend, Brenda Wood of Machias. A memorial service with military honors will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, at Kiley Funeral Home, 69 State St., Brewer, with the Rev. Gertrude Stone, Chaplain of New Hope Hospice, officiating.
