OWLS HEAD – Alberta Knight Jagels, 98, died Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at Shore Village Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center, Rockland. Born March 14, 1909, in Rockland, Alberta was the third daughter of Ernest E. and Ria (Knowlton) Knight. Alberta was employed as a switchboard supervisor for the Rockland Telephone Co. She married Frederick Burd Jagels in Rockland and then moved to Portland. Mrs. Jagels was a talented musician and played the piano and the violin. She will be remembered as a loving mother who will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, their spouses, her nieces, nephews and their families. Surviving is her son, Frederick Jagels and his wife, Jane, of Ellsworth; her daughter, Carolyn Minvielle of Owls Head; five grandchildren, Heather Robbins and her husband, Rob, Sara Wagner and her husband, Tom, Andrew Jagels and his wife, Michelle, Timothy Minvielle and his wife, Rae, and Thomas Minvielle and his wife, Rene; great-grandchildren, Allison and William Robbins, Reece Jagels, Ethan, Alexis and Madison Minvielle. Alberta is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews, Sue Thurston, Rebecca Burnham, Susan Barrie, Katrina Conland, Clifford Harper and Keith Harper. She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick, who died in 1989; her son, William Jagels; sisters, Evelyn Cross, Elizabeth Gilbert and Alma Dow; son-in-law, James Minvielle; nieces, Eleanor Ames and Ruth Dennett; and a nephew, Richard Harper. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 18, at Mountain View Cemetery, Camden.
