ROGUE BLUFFS – Alberta Rose Alley, 84, went home to be with her Lord Jan. 16, 2004, at a Jonesport healthcare facility. She was born Dec. 9, 1919, at Jonesport, the daughter of Edwin and Mertie (White) Norton. She is survived by two daughters, Janet Beal and her husband, Percy, of Lisbon Falls, and Karen Kohler and her husband, Adam, of Limestone; three stepsons, Maurice Alley and his wife, Diane, Gilbert Alley and his wife, Donna, all of Beals, and Raymond Alley and his wife, Terry, of Jonesport; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, George A. Richards, on Feb. 28, 1964; and her second husband, Alston J. Alley, on Feb. 12, 2002; her brothers, Clarence and Alfred Norton; and her sisters, Nancy O’Brien and Alfred Cummings. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 6 Cooper St., Machias, with Pastor William Dodge officiating. Interment will be at the Kennebec Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hope Bible Fellowship, P.O. Box 555, East Machias, ME 04630.
