VAN BUREN – Albina Y. Marquis, 90, died June 11, 2007, at a Van Buren health care facility. She was born Feb. 4, 1917, in Van Buren, the daughter of Alcide and Anna (Violette) Marquis. Miss Marquis was a graduate of Madawaska Training School, Fort Kent and the University of Maine – Presque Isle. She taught school for more than 40 years, 20 years in the Van Buren school system and 20 years at the former Loring Air Force Base. She was a mem-ber of the Living Heritage/ heritage Vivant Society, Van Buren, serving as secretary and vice-president. She was also a member of the Maine Retired Teachers Association. Albina is survived by two sisters, Virginia Nadeau of Aiken, S.C., and Pauline Parker of Temple City, Calif.; many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call 9:30 a.m. Thursday until time of service at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Interment will be held after at St. Bruno Cemetery.
