BANGOR – Alexander “Joe” Morison, 88, husband of the late Catherine T. (Bujnowski) Morison, died peacefully, attended by family, May 22, 2006, at a Bangor health care center. He was born March 12, 1918, in Stow, Mass., the son of Alexander and Lily (Clayton) Morison. Joe was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II stationed in Iran where he helped operate and maintain the railroad from the Persian Gulf to Russia. Joe was a life member of VFW Post 10210 of Sebastian, Fla. He worked for General Motors in Framingham, Mass. for 33 years. Since retiring, Joe and Kay spent their summers in Orrington and winters in Sebastian, Fla. They then moved to Boyd Place in Bangor. They were members of St. John’s Catholic Church. His beloved wife of 27 years, “Kay” died October 2005. Joe and Kay loved playing cards with their friends. Joe was a wonderful storyteller, and always told them from the lighter side. He was the perfect example of a “Nice Man.” Surviving is a special niece, Mary Beth Zahidi of Nevada; one sister, Eleanor Laffin of New Hampshire; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by two sisters and one brother. Joe will be remembered fondly by his many friends at Boyd Place and the cribbage players at the Hammond Street Senior Center, and special friends Bette Brehm and Bob Carlson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, at St. John’s Catholic Church, St. Jude’s Chapel, York Street, Bangor, with the Very Rev. Richard McLaughlin, pastor, celebrant. Burial will be at Marston Cemetery, Orrington.
