BERKELEY, CALIF. – Alexander Kent Tara, 57, died on Sept. 25, 2004. He was born Jan. 26, 1947, in Bangor, the son of Jozef and Geraldine Tara. Alex grew up in Bangor and then attended Texas A & M, where he studied architecture. He moved to California in 1977 and worked for the City of Berkeley as an architect for the past 25 years. Alex will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. Alex is survived by two sons, Jordan and Jared of Berkeley, Calif.; two brothers, Jozef and his wife, Nan, of West Bath and Lance and his wife, Debbie, of Veazie; one nephew, Travis Tara of Veazie; and one niece, Courtney Tara of Walnut Creek, Calif. A celebration of Alex’s life will take place on Oct. 17, 2004, in Berkeley, Calif. A memorial will also be held in the State of Maine at a later date for all of Alex’s aunts, uncles, and cousins.
