BANGOR – Alfred Kenneth Carr, 87, died peacefully April 7, 2006, at a Bangor health-care facility. He was born Aug. 22, 1918, in Bangor, the son of Harry W. and Ida Carr. He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force in World War II earning the rank of sergeant. Al retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a carrier after 27 years of service. He was a resident of Sunbury Village. He is survived by his loving wife, Loretta (Godin) Carr; and her family of Bangor, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Zelda Carr in 1985. Graveside funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, April 10, at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor, with the Rev. Dr. Rex Garrett, director of chaplaincy services at EMMC, officiating. Family and friends are suggested to gather 9:30 a.m. at the State Street entrance by the Superintendents Lodge to proceed to the gravesite.
