DEXTER – Alice Hammond, 97, wife of the late Floyd Hammond, died Nov. 5, 2004, in Dexter. She was born Nov. 16, 1906, in Levant, the daughter of Elbert and Eva (Lake) Waugh. She attended the First Baptist Church in Dexter most of her life and was a life member of the Wassookeag Chapter, O.E.S. in Dexter and the Martha Washington Rebekah Lodge in Dexter. She is survived by her daughter, Arlene G. Davis of Dexter; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Alice was predeceased by a son, Leon Hammond. Graveside memorial services were held Monday at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter. Funeral arrangements are by the Thompson Funeral Home, 30 St. Albans Road, Corinna, ME.
