ALLAGASH and CARMEL Alice Mary (Dunton) Gardner passed peacefully May 2, 2008, surrounded by her friends and family at home. She was born June 13, 1927, in Carmel. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Gardner, and the daughter of William and Florice (Partridge) Dunton. She is survived by four children and their spouses, William and Justine, James and Martha, Mary and Wilmer, and Pam and John; her grandchildren, Jay, Dale and Julie, Kay and Craig, Jeff and Donna, Shirley and Rickie, Keith, Tam-mi, Josh, Jaime and Crystal, Leah and Robert, Lucas and Maire; great-grandchildren, Lau-ri, Ashley, David, Samantha, Andrew, Billy, Sierra, Jacob, Devon, Kyle, Ashton and Christopher; great-grandchildren, Kayla and Autumn; a very special aunt, Phyllis Partridge; two special friends, Goldie and Germaine; and special people she considered her children, Shawn, Kate and Heather. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, James, Reginald, Stella, Maurice, Jean, David and Maynard; a nephew, James Jr.; and a grandson, Ryan. She had many special family and fri-ends. A special thanks goes to Dr. Robin Pritham for 20 years of care to Alice. She considered him to be the ultimate decision-maker for her health. Visiting hours will be held 10 a.m.-noon and 2-4 p.m. Monday, May 5, at Pentecostal Church, Allagash, with a funeral service 4 p.m. A memorial with refreshments will be held 3-4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 8, at Highway International Ministry Church, Damascus Road, Carmel.
