ORLAND – Peter M. Lavoie Jr., 61, died May 2, 2008, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Aug. 3, 1946, in Castine, the son of Peter M. and Helen (Ellingwood) Lavoie Sr. He graduated from George Stevens Academy, Blue Hill. Pete drove tractor-trailer over the road for many years, even owning his own fleet of trucks at one time. Before his retirement he operated heavy equip-ment for Wardwells Construction Co. He enjoyed his weekend “get togethers” with MCann, Walters and Dorr, breakfasts at Dysart’s with his family on Sunday with his daughter and grandsons, and just quiet conversation with his best friend, Lorretta, but his heart truly belonged to Rags, his faithful dog. He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Jones of Brewer, who always called him her hero and her very special friend, Jeff Ramsdell, of Brewer; two grandsons, Bryce and Tyler, also of Brewer; brother, Herb Lavoie and his wife, Christine, of Orrington; sister, Nancy Blas-tow and her husband, Gilbert, of Deer Isle; a special brother-in-law, Richard Bowden and his wife, Audrey, of Penobscot; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and three sisters, Thelma Lovoie, Lorretta Bowden and Ruth Billings. Visiting hours for family and friends will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, with Pastor Peter Remick officiating.
