PLAINVILLE AND NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – Alice Simard, 95, formerly of Plainville and New Britain, passed away, Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at the Walnut Hill Convalescent Home. She was the wife of the late Art Simard, who passed away in 1984 and was also the daughter of the late John and Meddie Viollette. Alice leaves behind five sons, Roland and his wife, Lorette, of Newington, Bert and his wife, Rowena, of Southington, Neil and his wife, Irene, of Burlington, Lester, of Kensington and Edgar and his wife, Tina, of Plainville; three daughters, Mona Blanchette of Plainville, Norma Martin, and her husband, Robert, of Newington, and Emely Roy of Berlin; a brother, Hampy Viollette of Florida; a sister, Elder Bouchard of Fort Kent; 21 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held 9 a.m. Saturday, April 2, at the New Britain Memorial/ Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Spirit, in Newington.
