VAN BUREN – Aline Cormier, 85, died Feb. 3, 2004, at a Van Buren healthcare facility after a brief illness. She was born in St. Leonard, N.B., Canada, March 21, 1918, the daughter of Peter V. and Odelie (Martin) Martin. She was a member of the Evangeline Circle, Daughters of Isabella and the Third Order of Mary at St. Bruno-St. Remi Parish. A very simple lady by social standards, she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was a devoted wife and mother and will be remembered for her love of people. Aline especially enjoyed playing cards with her special friends and neighbors. She is survived by one son and his wife, Leo James and Linda Cormier, of Hamlin; one granddaughter, Debra Cormier of Scarborough; one brother, Ronald J. Martin and his wife, Jackie, of Van Buren; one sister, Rena Palagio of Warren, R.I.; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Leo D. Cormier in 1994. Relatives and friends may call at the Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 12 High St., Van Buren, 7-9 p.m. Thursday and from 1:30 p.m. until time of service on Friday. A funeral mass will be held 3:30 p.m. Friday at the St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Spring interment will be in the parish cemetery.
