DEER ISLE – Alvin Chase Eaton, 80, husband of 58 years to Georgine Harlan Eaton, died Dec. 2, 2007, at the Deer Isle health care facility. He was born Oct. 27, 1927, in Norwell, Mass. He was a World War II veteran as a corporal in the Army. He was a longtime member of the Island Country Club and helped run many golf tournaments. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, a son, Alvin “Chuck” Eaton and his wife, Lori, of Greensboro, N.C.; and a daughter, Robin King and her husband, Joe, of Sunrise, Fla.; a sister, Marion Koivu and her husband, Richard, of Townsend, Mass.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family thanks the staff at Island Nursing Home for the wonderful care they gave Al. A memorial service and interment will be held in the spring with his cousin, Dowe Eaton officiating.
