WINTERPORT – Alvin Stanton Trundy, 76, husband of Virginia (Bellows) Trundy, went home to be with his Lord, April 29, 2004, at an Ellsworth healthcare facility. He was born Dec. 5, 1927, in Mexico, Maine, the son of Albert D. and Ivene C. (Hammond) Trundy. Alvin served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, from 1945-1948. He held a BS degree form Gorham State Teachers College. Alvin was an accomplished cabinetmaker and builder. He taught building technology and construction at Eastern Maine Technical College. He was a member of the Winterport Baptist Church, and was instrumental in the building of the church. Alvin was very talented and enjoyed working on, and flying his airplanes, boats, going to the family camp at Rangeley, building furniture, traveling in his motor home, and puttering around. He enjoyed the water and the sky and before his illness he and Virginia enjoyed a memorable cruise to Alaska. Alvin is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 55 years, Virginia of Winterport; two daughters, Marcia E. Kelly and her husband, Fred, of Bedford, N.H., and Vicki R. Carr of Millinocket; two sons, Alan B. Trundy and his wife, Arleen, of Great Falls, Va., and Eric R. Trundy and his wife, Laurel, of Brewer; one sister, Ivene Y. Trundy of Bangor; one brother, Bruce H. Trundy and his wife, Patricia, of Hampden; 10 grandchildren, David, Robin, Paul and Stephen Carr, Andrew Kennedy, and Sarah, Brian, Andrea, Austin and Ryan Trundy. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, May 3, 2004, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Winterport, with the Rev. Keith Cushman, former pastor of the Winterport Baptist Church, officiating.
