EAST MILLINOCKET – Andrew J. Beaumont, 76, died at a Lincoln healthcare facility on Friday, April 2, 2004. He was born April 9, 1927, in St. Pierre, P.Q., Canada, the son of Edgar J. and Mary Anne (Belisle) Beaumont. Mr. Beaumont’s working career began at Great Northern Paper Co. in Madison. In 1954, he and his wife, Doris, moved to East Millinocket, where he would continue to work for Great Northern, retiring as a papermaker in 1987. He was communicant of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and a member of St. Peter’s Council No. 1936 Knights of Columbus. Andrew enjoyed gardening and camping. He enjoyed his retirement tremendously, since it allowed him to travel and visit his grandchildren. Of all the things he enjoyed in life, there was nothing he enjoyed more than being a husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Doris M. (Vigue) Beaumont of East Millinocket; three daughters and their husbands, Colette and Leon Kaufman of Oakland, Calif., Anne Marie and William Smith of Norfolk, Mass., and Nancy and Christopher Findlen of Windham; four grandchildren, Emma Smith, Rachael Findlen, Nathaniel Smith and David Kaufman; his brothers and sisters, Cecile Bolduc of Quebec, Del Beaumont of Lincoln, Suzanne Prevost of South Carolina, Frances Mesiano of Coral Gables, Fla., and Roger Beaumont of Franklin, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 5, at R. L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 17 Western Ave., East Millinocket. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Burial will be held at a later date at St. Sebastian Cemetery in Madison.
