In Loving Memory Of ANDREW W. MAYNARD Nov. 30, 1960 – July 3, 1991 The best Christmas present ever. Open it one verse at a time. You have a gift that’s heaven sent. Look it over. Consider the wonder of it all. The wrapping. “This shall be a sign unto you; ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.” Luke 2:12 (KJV) The trimmings. “Suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, ‘Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.’” Luke 2:13, 14 The gift tag. “Thou shalt call his name Jesus; for he shall save his people from their sins… Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” Matthew 1:21, 23 The instructions. “The angel said unto her, ‘Fear not, Mary; for thou hast found favor with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in the womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name, Jesus. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David; and he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.’” Luke 1:30-33 The purpose. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 Unwrapping the gift. “God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned; but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” John 3:17-18 “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life; and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” John 3:36 “We are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree; him God raised up the third day, and showed him openly…and he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of the quick and dead. To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.” Acts 10:39-40, 42-43 “…The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23b You can receive God’s gift of life by putting your trust in Him. You can pray something like this, “Lord, thank you for sending your Son to die for me and rise again. I ask Jesus to come into my life and save me so that I can live with You forever.” His gift is waiting now. The choice is yours. Never forgotten, you’ll always be in our hearts. Love, Dad and Mom
