CARIBOU – Anita Jepson Wedberg, 82, beloved wife of the late Roland A. Wedberg, died Dec. 31, 2004, at a Van Buren healthcare facility after a brief illness. She was born April 5, 1922, at Caribou, the daughter of Fred and Martha (Osell) Jepson. A longtime Caribou resident, Anita was employed at the Bird’s Eye Frozen Foods Plant. She enjoyed babysitting during her retirement years, the last being her great-grandson, Noah Hixon, whom she greatly enjoyed. She spent many happy days and evenings playing cards with a devoted group of friends, known as “the girls.” She is survived by a son, Galen Wedberg and his wife, Birdine, of Caribou; two daughters, Eleanor Cyr and her husband, Bob, of South Portland, Rhonda Malloy and her husband, William Jr., of Windham; one brother, Clyde Jepson and his wife, Lina, of New Sweden; a sister-in-law, Irene Jose and her husband, Bion, of Caribou; five grandchildren, Scott Cyr and his wife, Mary, of South Portland, Kristi Dunham and her husband, Craig, of Brunswick, Kelli Hixon and her husband, Kenny, of Caribou, Kristen Malloy and Erin Malloy, both of Windham; five great-grandchildren, Caitlynn and Ethan Cyr, Kaci Dunham, Noah and Emma Hixon; several nieces and nephews. Anita was predeceased by her husband, to whom she was married on Nov. 9, 1940; and by one brother, Kenneth Jepson. Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, at the Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou with the Rev. Shelly Timber, officiating. Spring interment will be at the Westmanland Cemetery, Westmanland. Donations in Anita’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 163 Lancaster St., Suite 160B, Portland, ME.
