ISLAND FALLS – Anita M. Anderson, 52, died Sept. 29, 2006, in Millinocket. She was born March 17, 1954, in Island Falls, the daughter of Edward and Florence (Springer) Ryan Sr. Anita graduated from Island Falls High School and Beal Business College. She was a member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sodality and the Daughters of Isabella. She was working for Valley Satellite, Patten. Anita was affectionately known to her grandchildren as “Mammy.” She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Frederick Anderson of Island Falls; two children, Matthew and his wife, Lisa and their two children, Jacob and Ryan and Rachel Anderson of New Limerick; four brothers, Edward Ryan Jr. of Florida, Ronald and his wife, Donna Ryan, of Bangor, David and his wife, Jennifer Ryan, of Westbrook and Stephen and his wife, Diane Ryan, of Levant; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday at the St. Agnes Catholic Church, Island Falls, with Fr. Eddy Morin, celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Island Falls Historical Society or to the Katahdin Public Library. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
