SANDOWN, N.H. – Ann M. (Lane) McIntosh, 67, a resident of Sandown for the past 26 years, died Friday evening, Sept. 8, 2006, at her home, after a long illness. Born and educated in Topsfield. Mrs. McIntosh lived in the Bangor and Brewer area until she moved to Plaistow, N.H., in 1972. Mrs. McIntosh retired as an assembly technician, with 20 years of service, from Lucent Technologies in North Andover, Mass., and had previously worked in management positions in restaurants and retail stores. She had also worked many years ago as a dietician at Eastern Maine Medical Center. A former member of the Pioneer Clowns of the Merrimack Valley, Mrs. McIntosh had an incredible sense of humor and enjoyed her many hours of volunteer work making people laugh. She also combined her love of the ocean with volunteer activities in Hampton Beach, N.H. The daughter of the late Barbara (Lane) Leidy and mother of the late Lori Weidner, who died November 1994. She is survived by three sons, Merle W. McIntosh and his wife, Lisa, of Redwood City, Calif., Thomas A. McIntosh of Melbourne, Fla., and Chris E. McIntosh and his wife, Sheila, of Sandown, N.H., with whom she made her home; a brother, Larry L. Leidy of Princeton; two sisters, Jeannie Murray of East Holden and Thelma Preble of Florida; also nine grandchildren, several great-grand-children, nieces and nephews; and her longtime friend, Donna Pluard of Sandown, N.H. There will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service and celebration of her life to be held 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, at the Vic Geary Center, Greenough Road, Plaistow, N.H. A reception at the center will be immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of New Hampshire, One Tremont St., Concord, NH 03301. Arrangements are under the direction of Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, N.H.
