BREWER and BANGOR Anna D. (Bessette) Marot, wife of the late George E. Marot, passed away peacefully in her sleep Nov. 15, 2006, at her home at Ross Manor. She was born May 25, 1907, in Pawtucket, R.I., the daughter of John and Lena (Ayotte) Bessette. Anna grew up in Pawtucket, R.I., and attended Pawtucket, R.I., schools. She was a licensed practical nurse and graduated from the Brockton Hospital School of Nursing, Brockton, Mass. After graduation, she worked at the Brockton Hospital and the Goddard Memorial Hospital, Stoughton, Mass. Anna was married to George E. Marot for 69 years and during their lifetime together, they lived in Plymouth, Brockton and Attleboro, Mass., before moving to Maine. Living in Maine, Anna resided at the Phillip-Strickland House and Ross Manor, enjoying her life and times there. She loved to make crafts and play bingo and was an excellent seamstress and cook. Anna was a proper Christian lady who was a member of the Roman Catholic Church throughout her life. Anna is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne G. and Michael Thomas Dunphy of Hermon; three grandchildren, Michelle Dunlap and her husband, Matthew, of Old Town, Colleen Bridges and her husband, Kirk, of Hermon and Christopher Dunphy of Hermon; and five great-grandchildren, Alex Michael Bridges, Peter Thomas Dunphy, Ashley Madison Dunphy, Emily Charlotte Dunlap and Kelsey Nicole Bridges. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 9 a.m. Monday at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 70 Western Ave., Hampden, with the Rev. Robert Vaillancourt, pastor, celebrant. Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor. Arrangements entrusted to the Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden.
