FORT FAIRFIELD and WORCESTER, Mass. – Mrs. Anna Ugone, 94, wife of the late Anthony Ugone, died Monday morning, Jan. 31, 2005, at a Caribou nursing facility, following a brief illness. She was born June 2, 1910, at Worcester, Mass., the daughter of Francesco and Maria (Marapese) DeSimone. Anna attended Worcester schools and was married to Anthony Ugone on Sept. 29, 1930 and was the first couple married at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Worcester, Mass. and while residing in Maine, Anna attended the St. Denis Catholic Church, Fort Fairfield. Mrs. Ugone loved her family dearly and will be remembered as a superb cook, and an excellent mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents Mrs. Ugone was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Ugone in 1965; three brothers, Domenic, Louis and Joseph DeSimone; two sisters, Rose Lavoie and Mary Caputo; one grandson, Robert Huntress. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James and Winona Ugone of Fort Fairfield; one daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Carl Kilpatrick of West Palm Beach, Fla.; three sisters, Antoinette Latino of Shrewsbury, Mass., Italia Lamartireand Frances Tamaiolo, both of Worcester, Mass.; four grandchildren, Steven Huntress, Tony Ugone, Lisa Quinlan, Paula Knight; nine great-grandchildren, Sydney and James Ugone, Andria and Erin Quinlan, Kim and Robert Knights, Loren, Steven and Grace Huntress; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield, Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of departure for the St. Denis Catholic Church, 147 Main St., Fort Fairfield, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. with the Rev. David Raymond celebrant. A reception in Anna’s memory will be held at the VFW Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield, immediately following the funeral Mass. A service of committal will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005, at the Chapel of St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, 260 Cambridge St., Worcester, Mass., with the Rev. Michael Bafaso officiating.
