ANNA JOSEPHINE LUCE WASHINGTON – Anna Josephine Luce, 83, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2007, at Maine Medical Center, Portland. She was born June 29, 1923, in Washington, the daughter of the late Carl and Hazel Curtis Sukeforth. Anna was raised in Washington and graduated from Washington High School in 1939. She worked as a housekeeper at Bath Hospital; in a poultry plant in Belfast; and in fish factories in Rockland and Bath. Anna was a member of the Eastern Star, Washington; Washington VFW Auxiliary and the Washington Historical Society. Anna and her husband wintered in Florida for 19 years. She loved antiquing, going to Foxwoods and raising her horses to race. She was predeceased by her sister, Eleanor Harrington. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Roland Luce of Washington; sons, Ronald Luce and his wife, Linda, of Washington, Larry Luce Sr. and his wife, Joann, of Washington and Dennis Luce and his wife, Sylvia, of Sidney; 10 grandchildren and 21 great- grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Sunday, April 22, at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro. The funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, April 23, at Hall Funeral Home, Waldoboro. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Anna’s memory to the Washington VFW Scholarship Fund, Washington, ME 04574.
