JONESPORT – Anna M. Lakeman, 82, wife of the late Lorin H. Lakeman, died April 13, 2004, at her home in Jonesport. Anna was born March 19, 1922, in Jonesport, the daughter of Willard L. and Ethel (Crowley) Carver Sr. Anna graduated from Jonesport High School and Washington State Normal School in Machias, and taught school in Pittsfield, and in Manchester, Mass., until her retirement in 1982. Anna was predeceased by her husband; her parents; and three sisters, Evelyn Bryant, Minnie Johnson and Dorothy Samuelson. She is survived by her daughter, Carol and husband, James Paradis, of Hudson, Falls, N.Y.; and her son, Charles and his wife, Sharon, of Jonesport; five grandchildren, Stephanie and her husband, Steven Baillargeon, of Old Town, Cheri Lakeman of Randolph, Michelle Lakeman of Jacksonville, Fla., Kevin and his wife, Vicki Lakeman, of South Portland, and Stacey and her husband, Jeffrey Balicki, of Westfield, Mass.; three great-grandchildren, Molly and Lucas Baillargeon and Kristopher Lakeman; one great-stepgranddaughter, Traci Turner; two brothers, Willard Carver Jr. of Kennebec, and Byron Carver Sr. of Jonesport; a brother-in-law, Clifford Johnson Sr.; many nieces and nephews including two special nephews, Harlan Samuelson and Shawn Johnson Sr. Anna will be missed by the townspeople as she was an avid walker and also loved doing her morning crossword puzzle. At her request graveside services will be held at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery, Jonesport. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations to the Sawyer Memorial Congregational Church, Jonesport. Arrangements by Cremation Services of Maine, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
