HOULTON – Anna M. Turner, 61, died Sept. 21, 2007, with her family at her side at a local hospital. She was born July 1, 1946, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Ralph and Grace (Bubar) Broad. Anna was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She worked for many years as a nurse at Houlton Regional Hospital and at Madigan Home Health Care. Known to many as Ann and to her family and many friends as “Pinky,” she was loved and respected for her compassionate nature and her strong work ethic. She took great pride in her work and always felt it was a privilege to serve others. Anna loved life and her greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her husband, Jon R. Turner of Houlton; her son, Scott and his wife, Jill, and their son, Ciaran, all of Los Angeles; her daughter, Andrea of San Diego; her sister, Barbara McIntosh and her husband, Wayne, of Bath, New Brunswick; her sister-in-law, Sharon Broad of Blaine; her brother-in-law, Craig Turner and his wife, Ethel, of Otisfield; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; foster parents, Roy and Bertha Mersereau; brothers, Stephen and Robert Broad; sister, Nina Broad; and in-laws, Kenneth and Mary Irvine. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Houlton United Methodist Church with Naomi Sam’Kpakra officiating.
