ISLAND FALLS and ORONO Anna Russell Greenlaw, 90, wife of the late Claude L. Greenlaw died Jan. 17, 2005, at Bangor. She was born in Fort Fairfield April 14, 1914, the daughter of Charles and Mary Jane (Reid) Russell. She graduated from Fort Fairfield High School, Farmington State Normal School, and received Bachelor and Master of Education degrees from the University of Maine, Orono. She was an educator in several schools in the County for 37 years. The last few years, she served as principal. She was a member of the St. Agnes Sodality, Katahdin Club, Maine Retired Teachers Association, and National Education Association. Surviving are two daughters, Jane Fox and husband, Kenneth, of Englewood, Colo., and Mary Ann Gardner of Orono, and husband, Stephen of Sedona, Ariz.; four granddaughters, Sara Miller and Susan Gardner, of Orono, and Mary Anna and Katie Fox ,of Englewood, Colo.; one sister, Katie Mehlenbacher of Unadilla, N.Y.; and one brother, Roy Russell of Fort Fairfield; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Claude; daughter, Anne Lee; and three brothers, Reid Russell of Windsor, Conn., Dan of Fort Fairfield, and Peter of Falmouth, Mass. She was a communicant of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Island Falls, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Friday with the Rev. Morin, celebrant. At the families request, there will be no visiting hours. The family would like to thank her caregivers, Jackie Desmond and Deborah Holmes. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. Friends who wish, may contribute to the church of their choice in her memory. A time of fellowship will be held immediately following at the Island Falls V.F.W. Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls.
