STOCKTON SPRINGS – Anne Hall passed away Aug. 30, 2007, surrounded by her children and her life partner, Clarke Williams, at home. Anne Lacey Theresa Hall was born Feb. 4, 1935, in Boston. She was a graduate of Mount Alvernia High School, Chestnut Hill, Mass., Class of 1952 and Boston College School of Nursing, Class of 1956. Anne was a natural athlete, winning several tennis championships at York Golf and Tennis Club, York, and scoring a hole-in-one at the Key Biscayne Golf course in Florida. Anne loved to do-it-yourself and was at her happiest when she was renovating her home here in Stockton Springs with her beloved, Clarke Williams. And, above all else, she was a devoted Red Sox fan. A favorite saying of Anne’s was, “tomorrow is a brand new day that’s never been touched.” While Anne will not be here to renovate tomorrow, her legacy of an irrepressible joy for life is alive and well in her children and grandchildren. Anne is survived by her six children, Francis Alfred O’Brien and his wife, Kim, of St. Paul, Minn., Dr. Joseph Gorman O’Brien Jr., commander, U.S. Navy, and his wife, Jennifer, of Norfolk, Va., William Hall O’Brien and his wife, Rachel, of Fort Worth, Texas, Timothy Patrick O’Brien of Wisconsin, Mary Keefe O’Brien and her husband, Robin Jones, of McLean, Va., and Michael Walsh O’Brien of Stoughton, Mass. She is also survived by 13 adoring grandchildren; her brother, William Saunders Hall, colonel, U.S. Air Force, retired; and Clarke Williams and his three children. A remembrance service will be held at Fort Point Lighthouse, Stockton Springs. In lieu of flowers, Anne’s family asks that donations be made, in Anne’s name, to Waldo County Home Health Care and Hospice, 119 Northport Ave., P.O. Box 407, Belfast, ME 04915.
