BARING – Annie E. Doten, 92, died Feb. 9, 2007, at Calais Regional Hospital. She was born April 29, 1914, in Upper Mills, New Brunswick, the daughter of John and Nellie (Blakney) Cornish. Annie loved her flower gardens and knitting; making several pair of mittens each year for local churches and other organizations to distribute at Christmas. Annie was predeceased by her husband, Otis; two infant sons, Otis and Raymond; brothers-in-law, Clyde, Albion and Bernard Doten, all of Baring; and sisters-in-law, Thelma Moreshead of Calais, Martena Howland of Baring and Inez Frost of Alexander. She is survived by her brother, Richard A. Cornish of St. John, New Brunswick; her son, Carlton R. Doten of Baring and Silver Springs, Fla.; three daughters, Elaine Perkins, Irene Gallway and Jean Pike, all of Calais; a special grandson, Dean Perkins of Baring; and several other grandchildren, great-grand-chil-dren and great-great-grand-children. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, Norman Doten of Baring; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Johnson and Muriel Doten of Baring, Winnifred Elsemore of Meddybemps and Annie R. Doten of Calais; several nieces and nephews. A graveside committal service will be held in the spring. Contributions may be made to the Second Baptist Church, Calais, or the charity of one’s choice.
