PRESQUE ISLE – Janet R. Dicker, 75, died Feb. 5, 2007, at a Mars Hill health care center. She was born March 31, 1931, the daughter of Clifton and Mildred (Arbo) Higgins. Janet was a graduate of Mapleton High School and received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from the University of Maine. She taught at the Cunningham Middle School, Presque Isle for more than 20 years. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Jackie Griffin; and two brothers, Horace and Charles Higgins. Surviving her are nieces and nephews, Douglas Griffin of Portland, Bruce Griffin of Brewer, Vicki Walters of Stratham, N.H., Peggi Bryer of Lowell, Mass., Jan Hagen of Colorado Springs, Colo., William Higgins, Diane Meek and Steven Higgins, all of Tolland, Conn., Scott Wilson, Brian Wilson, Kevin Wilson, Ramona Cochran, Sherida Wilson and Richelene Thibault, all of Presque Isle and Horace Higgins of Georgia. A graveside service will be held later in the spring at Southside Cemetery, Mapleton. Gifts in her memory may be sent to the charity of your choice.
