FRANKFORT – Annie G. Danforth, 89, went to be with the Lord, May 7, 2008, surrounded by her family, at her son’s home in Frankfort. Annie was born Feb. 2, 1919, in Hampden, to the late Wilbur R. and Lillian (Condon) Cobb. Annie’s greatest loves were spending time with her family and friends, gardening, music, and reading her bible. Annie was predeceased by her husband, Norman L. Danforth Sr.; one daughter, Eloyce A. Kenney; one son, Baby Phillip; one stepson, Leroy Danforth; three grandchildren, Nicholas Danforth, Wilbur Marden Jr. and Dale Marden; one brother, Warren Cobb; and three sisters, Dorothy Haskell, Lillian Parsons and Olive Tolman. She is survived by five sons, Victor Marden of Gales Ferry, Conn., Wilbur Marden of Harrington, Dennis Danforth of Addison, Daniel Danforth and Norman Danforth Jr., both of Frankfort; three daughters, Patricia Hanson of New Gloucester, Elsie Gerry of Northport and Edna Corcoran of Augusta; two brothers, Ralph Cobb of Hampden and Donald Cobb of California; four sisters, Bernice Connors of Connecticut, Laura Burt of Bangor, Phyllis Ricker of Newburgh and Roweena Edwards of Belfast; 32 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and her beloved dog, Angel. A graveside service for Annie will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, May 8, at Pilgrim’s Home Cemetery, Monroe, with the Rev. Stephen Hanson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Annie’s memory may be made to Waldo County Home Health Hospice, P.O. Box 772, Belfast, ME 04915.
