ANNIE M. McCARTHY BANGOR – Annie M. McCarthy, 83, died July 7, 2004, at her residence. She was born Sept. 21, 1920, in Bangor, the daughter of Michael J. and Margaret (Dow) McNeil. Annie served in the Army Air Corp during World War II, and the Pacific Theater. She was very proud of her service to her country and continued to serve as a federal government employee. In her retirement years, she was very active in the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She was a communicant of St. John’s Catholic Church, Bangor, and enjoyed the many activities of the retired Bangor Police Association of which her husband, James served and retired from. She is survived by three daughters, Margaret Ann McEwen and her husband, John, of Wisconsin, Emma L. Breare of Stoughton, Mass., and Patricia M. Warren of Sharon, Mass.; four sisters, Bertha Lundquist and her husband, Carl, of Dorchester, Mass., Marqurite McNeil of Bangor, Barbara Marsanskis of Belfast, Carolyn Talbot of Louisiana; six grandchildren, Kathryn and John McEwen, Joseph and Bryan Breare, Russell and Rose Warren; many nieces and nephews and two very special niece and nephew, Nancy and her husband, Bill Lucas, of Australia, and Michael and his wife, Sharon Prange, of Oklahoma. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Greenlawn Memorial Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at St. John’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the family lot, Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
