BANGOR – Anthony J. Rogers, 92, died March 12, 2008, at a local Bangor nursing home. He was born Dec. 7, 1915, in Bangor, the son of Joseph and Teresa (Guarino) Rogers. Tony was a graduate of John Bapst High School and was a lifelong communicant of St. John’s Catholic Church, Bangor. He was a World War II Army veteran and very proud of his military service. Tony owned and operated an appliance store in Bangor for many years along with his wife, Agnes. He is survived by two brothers, Donald Rogers of Cape Cod, Mass., and Nate Rogers of Raymond. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Agnes; one sister, Francesca J. Ruggieri; and one brother, Hugh Rogers. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Greenlawn Memorial Funeral Home, 300 State St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at St. John’s Catholic Church. Interment will be in the spring at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery.
