BAILEYVILLE – Anthony Andrew Drotar, 74, died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005, at his residence. Tony was born Jan. 30, 1931, in Woodland, son of the late Andrew and Mary (Balog) Drotar. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served on the USS Columbus during the Koran War. On Aug. 9, 1958, he married Marjorie Hanson in Woodland. Tony was employed by Georgia Pacific for over 47 years as a Foreman in the finishing room. He was a member of St. James The Greater Roman Catholic Church in Baileyville and the William T. Wren Post No. 23 American Legion. Tony was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening. For the past several years, Tony and Marjorie enjoyed wintering in Lake Wales, Fla. In addition to his parents, Tony was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Plaisted. Surviving are his loving wife of over 47 years, Marjorie; two sons, James A. Drotar and wife, Rachel, of Cape Cod, Mass., and Mark E. Drotar and wife, Teresa, of Symington, Scotland; three sisters, Regina Annis of Baileyville, Josephine Ramsdell and husband, Robert, of Baileyville, and Mary McNabb and husband, Stephen, of LaCrosse, Wis.; a brother, Michael “Brother William” Drotar of West Hartford, Conn.; a brother-in-law, Ronald Hanson and wife, Barbara, of Kingston, Ontario; three granddaughters, Sonja, Natasha, and Megan Drotar; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais, where the Rosary will be recited 8:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday at St. James The Greater Roman Catholic Church, in Baileyville, by Father Frank Morin.
