SURRY – Antoine “Tony” Daigle, 74, died Jan. 4, 2004, at the Maine Veterans Home in Bangor. He was born March 20, 1929, in Drummond, New Brunswick, the son of Felix and Marie R. (Parent) Daigle. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. Tony had been a very active and supportive member of the Ellsworth VFW Post 109. He lived in Surry for more than 33 years and was a self-employed carpenter and painter serving all of Hancock county and the surrounding area. He is survived by a son, Leonard Daigle and wife, Jeanne, of Ellsworth; four daughters, Toni Carter and Wayne Alley of Surry, Doris Johnston and husband, Brett, of Ellsworth, Theresa Roakes of Bangor, and Donna Daigle-Ferden and husband, Scott, of Penobscot; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Tony was predeceased by his wife, Alfreda (Joy) Daigle; 11 siblings; and a grandson, Nicholas Johnston. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at Jordan Funeral Home, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth.
