GORHAM – Antoine Paul Picard, 78, died Aug. 30, 2006, at Concord Hos-pital, Concord, N.H., after a very brief illness. “Tony” was born in Frenchville, a son of Hypolite and Elise Pelletier Picard. He was a graduate of Madawaska High School and Husson College. During the Korean War, he served in the Army. He retired as a vice president of the Merrill Trust Co. where he had been employed for 25 years. He was a member of the National Accounting Association. He and his family had resided in the Bangor area and moved to Gorham after retirement. During the winter months, he and his wife, Dorothy, resided in Bradenton, Fla. His favorite activities were spending time with his grandchildren, gardening and golf. He was predeceased by his parents; his sisters, Clair Dubois, Ursula Ellesworth, Irma Albert and Claudette Perreault; and a brother, Jean Luc. Surviving him are his wife of 50 years, Dorothy Cammic Picard of Gorham; two sons, A. Paul Picard and his wife, Sandra, of Fayette and Dr. David Picard and his wife, Jean, of Concord, N.H.; his sisters and brothers, Priscilla Dumais, Euclide, Phillip and Edgar of Frenchville, Leonie “Marie” McGovern of Andover, Kan., Muriel Picard of Londonderry, N.H., Joseph of El Cajon, Calif., Rinette Gervais of St. Agatha and Laurette Park of Windham, N.H.; grandchildren, Matt, Mikey, Jon, Ben, Carolyn and Chris; nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held 7-9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, at the Dolby and Dorr Funeral Chapel, 76 State St., Gorham. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Hyacinth’s Church, Brown Street, Westbrook, with the Rev. Reginald Brissette officiating. Interment will be in the family lot at Corey Cemetery, Lubec. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Arthritis Foundation, 6 Chenell Drive, Suite 260, Concord, NH 03301.
