LEVANT and LEWISTON – Antoinette LaFrance Breault, born Jan. 17, 1909, went to be with our Lord this day, Jan. 18, 2007. She was born in Trois Pistol, Quebec, the seventh of 20 children, 15 girls and five boys, to Helene and Joseph LaFrance. Antoinette came to the United States and was a lifetime resident of Lewiston. Along with her father and some of her older sisters, she began working at a very young age in the Lewiston textile industry. She worked in this industry through her teen and adult years and this is where she met the love of her life and future husband, Gaston Breault. They married and had two daughters, Priscilla Breault Burke and Rolande Breault Bolduc. She adored her husband and children and worked very hard to give her daughters a life of love and comfort. She and Gaston were ahead of the times. They shared a life of 50-50, each working, taking care of the children, cooking and taking care of their home. Antoinette became a U.S. citizen in 1944 which was no easy task as she spoke very little English. She was proud to be an American and never missed a presidential election. Her life was an amazing one, her trials and tribulations, her goals and conquests should be admired. She was a strong individual with a heart of gold. She admired her mother for the happy, loving woman that she was. Antoinette was predeceased by her mother and father; her husband, Gaston; both daughters, Priscilla and Rolande; and all but two of her siblings. She is survived by one sister, Rita Landry of Lynn, Mass.; one brother, Raymond LaFrance of Satellite Beach, Fla.; nine grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. A special great-grandson, Michael McPherson; two special great-great-grand-sons, Gage and Ben Morgan; and a special great-great-granddaughter, Gia Davila, filled her days with laughter and love with their frequent visits. She also leaves a special friend of many years, Yvette Gousse of Lewiston. Antoinette “Memere” will be dearly missed by granddaughter, Michele and her husband, Mark, whom she resided with for more than five years in Levant. Per her request there will be no services, instead a Mass will be read for her. A private burial will take place at a later date.
