INDEPENDENCE, Mo. Archibald “Archie” Trimble, 89, passed away Feb. 18, 2007. Archie was born June 7, 1917, in Milltown, to Charles and Emma Trimble. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran serving with the 589th Signal Depot Co. in the European African Middle Eastern theater, as a radar and radio repair specialist for three years. In 1950, Archie joined the U.S. Customs Service and worked on the Maine-New Brunswick border. During this time, he met his future wife, Elsie. They married Sept. 22, 1953. Upon retirement in 1976, Archie and Elsie moved to Missouri. Despite a feisty Irish temper, Archie was a gentle, kind-hearted man, who was always willing to help others in need and was a loving husband and father. He was a member in the Re-organized Church of Latter Daily Saints. Archie was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Norman; and his son, Charles. He is survived by his wife, Elsie; daughter, Linda Trimble; daughter, Brenda and Ron Lewis; and three grandchildren, Aaron, Breanna and Caralea Lewis. Per his wishes, there will be no funeral service. Burial will be private.
