PRESQUE ISLE – Archie McCausland, 68, died Monday, June 7, 2004, at a Presque Isle hospital. He was born Dec. 13, 1935, in Fort Fairfield, the son of Arthur and Annie Mae (Maskell) McCausland. Archie worked as a construction worker for many years operating a jackhammer, handling and setting explosives. He loved model trains and planes, as well as the out doors and woodworking. He was a member of the Church of Jesus and his faith in God was the most important thing in his life. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Joan (Lathrop) McCausland of Presque Isle; three daughters, Mary McCausland of Presque Isle, Nancy Cray and her husband, Jerry, of Presque Isle, Susan McCausland-Shellhamer of Biddeford; four granddaughters; one grandson; a brother, Harry of Feedings Hills, Mass; sisters, Maxine McCausland of Presque Isle, Rita Johnson of Mars Hill, Gloria Howe and her husband, Gary, of Mapleton, Linda Orman and her husband, Charlie, of Florida. Elizabeth Tracy of Howland; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Archie was predeceased by five brothers, Arthur Jr. William, George, David, Robert; and three sisters, Thelma Johnson, Ethel Berner and Laura Klien. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday at the Church of Jesus in Presque Isle, with the Rev. Earl Durost officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment will take place at Fairmount Cemetery in Presque Isle, following the service.
