BREWER – Arleen W. Arnold, 81, wife for 64 years of the late Edson Arnold, died Aug. 21, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. She was born May 19, 1923, in Brewer, the daughter of Ralph and Annie (Fellis) Wentworth. Arleen worked for Sears, Roebuck and Co. for more than 20 years and enjoyed traveling with her husband to 49 states and to every province in Canada. She is survived by one son and his wife, Edson “Eddie” and Kathy Arnold of Holden; two daughters, Margaret “Peggy” and her husband, Ralph Holyoke, Joyce A. Tardiff; and special friend, Sid Winchester, all of Brewer; her sister, Elizabeth Lyford of Brewer; special grandchildren, Ralph, Rae Anne, Tallie, Scott, Tom, Lori; and 14 great-grandchildren, including one very special great-granddaughter, Annie. She was predeceased by three brothers, Edward, Ralph, Bill Wentworth; two sisters, Jennie Malone, Louise Wentworth; and special grandson, Tim Tardiff in 1980. The family would like to thank Marie for her wonderful care, love and compassion and also to New Hope Hospice. Friends may call 3:30-5 p.m. and 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, where a prayer service will be held 7 p.m. Monday, with the Rev. Roland Nadeau, chaplain of St. Joseph’s Hospital, officiating. Private interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer.
