PLEASANT POINT and CALAIS – John L. Bailey, 67, died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004, at a Calais hospital. He was born Jan. 31, 1937, at Pleasant Point, the son of Lewey and Josephine Bailey. He served in the U.S. Army and was a police officer in Orono. He was a member of the Calais American Legion. For the past 26 years, he owned Bailey’s Taxi of Calais. He is survived by his wife, Alberta of Calais; his daughter, Tammy Bailey of Calais; a sister, Martha Nicholas of Pleasant Point; a brother, Joseph Bailey of Pleasant Point; a brother-in-law, James Mulholland of Calais; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Mulholland of Alexander; many nieces and nephews. Friends and relatives may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, 2004, at the Flagg Funeral Home in Eastport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Pleasant Point, with the Rev. Gaffey celebrant.
