ASHLAND – Arlene L. Sturgeon, 59, died Oct. 2, 2006, at her residence after a long illness. She was born Jan. 30, 1947, in Masardis, the daughter of Kenneth and Beulah (Clark) Porter. She was a 1965 graduate of Ashland Community High School and was employed for several years by McCain’s Foods. She is survived by her husband, Dwight Sturgeon Sr. of Ashland; one son, Dwight Sturgeon Jr. and his companion, Robin, of Plainville, Conn.; one daughter, Terri Tardie and her husband, Gerald, of Nashville Plantation; three sisters, Lona Bragdon and her husband, Clive and Rena Porter of Masardis and Vella Wyttenbach and her husband, Doug, of St. Paul, Minn.; and three grandchildren, Dennis and Matt Tardie and Amber Sturgeon. She will also be missed by a very special friend, Leroy Goodwin of Masardis. Relatives and friends may call 1 p.m. Friday until time of service at the Masardis Pentecostal Church. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. Donald Morton Jr., pastor, officiating. Committal service and interment will be at Masardis Municipal Cemetery.
