MARION, N.C. – Mrs. Arlene Leighton Aubrey, 96, a former resident of the Blue Ridge Terrace Apartments, Marion, N.C., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006, after a brief illness at the Mountain Ridge Wellness Center, Ridgecrest, N.C. Born Jan. 23, 1910, she was a native of Exeter. A loving mother and grandmother, she was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, H. Parker Aubrey. Surviving are two children, Donna A. Calvert and her husband, Kirtley, of Old Fort, N.C., and Byron E.E. Aubrey and his wife, Jackie, of Bangor; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 6, at Westmoreland Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Allen officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
