BANGOR – Clifton “Chappy” H. Chapman, 80, husband of the late Beatrice (Ferguson) Chapman, died Oct. 3, 2006, at his Bangor home. He was born Feb. 22, 1926, in Brewer, the son of George and Dorothy (Gerow) Chapman. Chappy served in the U.S. Marine Corp during World War II. He was a co-owner of Twin-City Electric and enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and just being outdoors. Chappy was a member of Rising Virtue Lodge No. 10 AF & AM, Bangor; Scottish Rite Bodies Valley, Bangor; Maine Consistory 32nd degree and Anah Shriners, Bangor, where he was a member of the mini-bike unit for many years. He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Chapman of Carmel; his brother, Harold Chapman and his wife, Priscilla, of Brewer; one grandson, Travis Chapman and C.J. Ruest of Bangor; two great-grandchildren, Xavier Rackliff and Raeven Chapman; four nephews, Steve, Jon, Jeff and Chris Chapman; and a very special friend, June Shaw of Newburgh. A service of remembrance will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 6, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Grace Bartlett, officiating. Interment will be at Chapman Cemetery, Newburgh.
