PRESQUE ISLE – Arlene R. (King) McHugh Dicker, 82, passed away Feb. 23, 2008, in Presque Isle, after an extended illness. She was born Nov. 4, 1925, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Clement Sr. and Helen (Higgins) King, who predeceased her. Arlene served 30 years with Aroostook Trust Co., and Maine National Bank, working her way up to assistant manager and loan officer. She was one of the woman banker’s instrumental in the formation of the National Association of Bank Women. A communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, she was a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She was also a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary No. 9389, a member of Probus, SAGE at University of Maine – Presque Isle, a past member of Presque Isle Snowmobile Club, Aroostook County Campers Association and Green Ridge Grange. Arlene is survived by two beloved daughters, Carol-Jean Lougee and her husband, Raymond, of Colorado, and their children, R. Joseph and wife, Mary, and their children, Myles, Alyanna, Kelty and Kaylin of Colorado, Charles of California and Shawn of Colorado; and Mary-Ann McHugh and her children, Mikaela Foster of Augusta and Brant Hubbard of Bangor. She also leaves her brother, Richard King and his wife, Irene; sisters, Jackie Haines and her husband, Harold “Junior,” Barbara Hews and her husband, Ed, and Geraldine Wheeler and her husband, Ronald; sisters-in-law, Helen King, Margaret Coffin, Barbara Manchester, Clarice McCabe and Hope McPherson; brother-in-law, Harold Quass; and dear friends, Blanche Bois, Grace Scott and Anita Beaulieu. She also leaves many cousins, nieces and nephews. Arlene was predeceased by the father of her children and first husband, C. Arden McHugh; by her second husband, Clifford “Kip” Dicker; her brothers, Ted Coffin and Clem King Jr.; and sister, Dorothy Quass. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Presque Isle, with the Rev. Raymond Mor-ency, celebrant. Interment will be at Fairmont Cemetery in the spring.
