CARIBOU – Arlene Rideout 85, wife of the late Warren Rideout, died Feb. 9, 2005, at Caribou. She was born Sept. 10, 1919, in Perham, the daughter of Olie and Lillian (Helstrom) Wardwell. In her younger years, Mrs. Rideout was employed by the J.C. Penney Co. She was later employed by the Birds Eye Division of General Foods and American Kitchen Foods for many years. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Francine Rideout of South Portland and Gregg and Michelle Rideout of Caribou; one daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and David Deveau of Caribou; three brothers, Rodney and Calvin Wardwell, both of Perham, and Erban Wardwell of Mims, Fla.; five sisters- in-law; Sylvia, Maxine, Faye and Rita Wardwell and Rhoda Campbell; eight grandchildren; Wendy Prashaw and her husband, Travis, Derek Deveau and his fianc?e, Alexis Cowett, Shawn, Courtney, and Brandon Rideout, Steven Guerrette, Reggie and Cory Rideout; one great-grandson, Tanner Pras-haw; many nieces and nephews and friends. Mrs. Rideout was predeceased by her husband, Warren in 1993; three sisters, Marilyn Chipman, Gertrude Findley and Avis Brown; and a brother Darrell Wardwell. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou, 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, until the time of services which will be held at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Roger Jewell, officiating. Interment will be in the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery.
