MILFORD – Ruby “Mimi” H. Therriault, 84, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005 at a Brewer nursing facility following a six year courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Old Town, June 30, 1920, daughter of the late Burns L. and Margaret M. (McAuliffe) Avery. Ruby was affectionately known as “Mimi” to those who loved her. She was an accomplished seamstress having created many beautiful articles of clothing for her family. Mimi worked for several shoe factories in the Old Town area throughout her life until her retirement. Following retirement, she taught sewing classes for the Singer Company. Mimi was a life long, faithful communicant and member of Holy Family Parish in Old Town where she also taught Religious Education Classes. She is survived by three brothers, Robert Avery and his wife, Helen of Greenbush, Frances Avery and his wife, Mary, of Old Town, Calvin Avery and his wife, Marjorie, of Nantucket, Mass.; sister, Phyllis Lozier and her husband, George, of Old Town; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mimi was predeceased by her husband, Wilfred; two brothers, Lloyd and Frank Avery. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Parish in Old Town with the Rev. Normand Richard Celebrant. Friends and family are invited to the Holy Family Parish Hall immediately following the Mass for a luncheon and continued fellowship.
