JONESPORT – Arline (Johnson) Harmon, 93, passed away Aug. 2, 2004, at a Machias hospital, after a short illness. She was born March 3, 1911, in Machias, the daughter of the late Charles and Bessie Johnson. Arline attended the Machias High School and graduated from Normal School with a degree in elementary education. She taught for many years and was principal for several years before retiring. She was a member of the Eastern Star. Arline enjoyed crocheting, knitting, making ceramics and watching TV. She is survived by her sons, George “Sonny” Harmon and wife, Jolene, and Charles Harmon and wife, Faythe, all of Jonesport; grandchildren, George “Al” Harmon and wife, Kathy, of Orrington, Kathy Crane and husband, David, of Lamoine, Roger Harmon and wife, Robyn, of Yorktown, Va.; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; sister-in-law, Virginia Ramsey of Bar Harbor; several nieces and nephews; many special friends; and beloved dog, Brittney. She was predeceased by her husband, George R. Harmon; brother, Gene Johnson; and sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Johnson. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, at the Greenwood Cemetery, Jonesport, officiated by Pastor George Woodward.
