GRAND ISLE – Artheline Doucette, 89, passed into eternal rest, March 7, 2006, at a Fort Kent hospital. She was born in St. David, Oct. 19, 1916, the daughter of Eugene and Egline (Michaud) Michaud. She is survived by one son, Gerard Doucette and his wife, Mary, of Gray; two daughters, Charlene Gervais and her husband, Joel, of St. David, Lillian Rioux and her husband, Maurice, of Edmundston, N.B., Canada; one brother, Edgar Michaud of Presque Isle; one sister, Therese Cyr of Madawaska; five granddaughters, Debra Ann Gervais M.D., Donna Lee Gyorda and her husband, Andrew Jr., Danielle Rioux, Lisa Viger and her husband, Ken, Gail Leger and her husband, Shannon; four great-grandchildren, Joseph and Kristen Gyorda, Kyla and Jacob Viger; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Patrick, March 27, 1971; by her parents; seven brothers, Gred, Hector, Henri, Gerard, Joseph, Phedime and Joyime; seven sisters, Roseanna, Yvonne, Phelime, Mattie, Corinne, Rita and Anita; and by one grandson, Mark Doucette. She was an avid vegetable and flower gardener, loved cooking for her family, sewing, knitting, doing crafts and playing cards. She was a 60-year member of the Ladies of St. Anne from the St. Gerard-Mt. Carmel parish in Grand Isle. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 p.m. Saturday, at St. Gerard Church in Grand Isle, with the Rev. James Albert officiating. Friends and relatives may call at the Daigle Funeral Home 7-9 p.m. Friday and from 11:30 a.m. until time of services Saturday. Interment will be in the parish cemetery in the spring.
