NEW LIMERICK – Arthur D. Ledger, 75, died Oct. 21, 2007, in Bangor, after fighting a brave battle with leukemia. He was born March 24, 1932, in Houlton, son of Maurice and Irene (Kiley) Ledger. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War, where he worked in a specialized division. Arthur was a member of Linneus Sno Sports, enjoyed camping, restoring antiques, helping his children by giving great advice and guidance, having his grandchildren around him and had a great love for anything John Deere and antique cars. He was a devoted truck driver for many years, working for Irving Oil, D.W. Small, Petroleum Products and Dead River, and loved to haul the B train. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Leona (Drake) Ledger of New Limerick, to whom he was a very devoted husband and looked after her care for many years; four children, Patricia A. and her husband, George Fitzpatrick Jr., of Hammond, Peter and his wife, Shelley Ledger, of Linneus, Lynn Graham and her husband, Bradley, of Houlton and Arthur K. “Arty” Ledger of New Limerick; 10 grandchildren, Troy and Travis Fitzpatrick, Alishia and Jeramie Ledger, Amanda, Hunter and Ryder Graham and Levi, Gabriel and Aspen Ledger; four great-grandchildren, Makenzie, Emma, Hanna and Sierra; one sister, Jackie Collela and her husband, Leroy, of Bristol, Conn.; many nieces, nephews and cousins; close friends, Leland Cyr, Jerry Dickinson, Gerald Holmes, Matt Pratt, Marvin Putnam, Wayne Brown, Gerald Benn and Lee Ludwig. He was predeceased by his parents; and three brothers, Robert, Joseph and Richard “Dick.” Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. David Tuttle officiating. Interment will be at New Limerick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate to the Leukemia Foundation, care of Bowers Funeral Home, P.O.
